Dear Friends and Family,

Heathers Home Orphanage in Haiti is entering its fourth year; we are so grateful to you for all your support through faithful prayers and givingeathers hHeathers Heathers Home operates solely on faith, we never know how we are going to make it from one month to the next, yet here we are four years later to the Glory of God.  We couldn’t do it without people of compassion supporting the cause of our children.

Today you would never know that these children each have their own heart wrenching, tear jerking story.  Those damaged virtually despondent children have been radically altered by the love care and support they have found at Heathers Home.  They are the most loving, happiest, giggly bunch of children you could ever know.  In a school of over 200 children we have 4 that are first in their class and all are showing real promise.   Each of our children has been handpicked, ripped from the grip of poverty hopelessness and despair.   It has been the greatest privilege of our lives.

Still we are not without are challenges.  January is a huge month for us, we need to pay our rent for the year as well as keep up with our day to day operating expenses.   Frankly, giving is down the cost of things globally keeps going up and dollars don’t stretch as far as they used to, as you well know.  We need to take $5000.00 dollars with us to Haiti when we leave on the 18th of this month. This is our most pressing and urgent need.  With God all things are possible.

The home where our family lives is very nice and with a little TLC it would be nice even by US standards, but it is a rental and therefore we can’t make any lasting improvements.   In the last several months I have come to believe it is vital for us to have our own ground, a place that is ours and belongs to us.  The very first thing we would do with this land is to start agricultural projects that would provide for years to come.  We want to plant a big ol garden, raise chickens, a few goats and maybe even have a milk cow.  We have started a separate fund and began looking for the land God would have for us.  Land in Haiti is a lot more expensive than one would think.  We have set a goal of $50,000 in order to secure 3 to 5 usable acres.  Money can be specifically designated to land.

So this is the part where I ask for money.  Please give this work your careful and prayerful consideration.  Make our home in Haiti your home. This letter is also an invitation for you to come with us on one of our adventures to Haiti and be eye witness to what God is doing first hand.

 Thank you,

 Rev. John P.Earley
